Travel Highlights
In the morning we packed up and hit the road heading west. First we stopped at the Krispy Kream donut store for some hot fresh donuts. Em, em good. Then we got Gas and looked for a ship and mail type store to send home some things that got left with us when Stacy and TJ were out here. Then we were off for a long day through Ohio to land in Indiana. The morning was perfect weather but then came the afternoon. We noticed some dark clouds and I just finished saying lets look for a Subway and a shelter for the bike when 10 seconds later a crack of thunder and lightening exploded right over our heads. I was hit with a few drops of rain and 10 more seconds later I saw a Subway with an overhang and parked the bike. We no sooner got off the bike and turned around and the sky opened up (see picture). This has happened many times on this trip. We had lunch, got on the bike and the sky cleared up. A couple of hours later we were not as lucky. Within 1 mile on both sides of us were two thunder storms. The GPS told us to turn left and the HWY signs said right. Unfortunately both options headed directly into the storms. I choose to head straight to go between them. This is where the GPS is so cool. As soon as I passed the exit it recommended it automatically recalculates the best route based on the road I choose. Very cool!!! An hour or so of rain and it cleared up and we had a couple of hours of sun shine to dry us out before we got to the KOA.
