Travel Highlights
We got on the road a little before noon and went to see the Kinzua bridge. A very cool old time canyon crossing train bridge or at least until two weeks ago. As the pictures will show the bridge was demolished by a F1 class tornado on July 21st. It took out the bridge and tons of trees. Sure glad we were not riding in the area that day. Two days later, the day before we were heading from Albany to New York, a tornado hit in the same area we were planning on driving through the next day. Both of these weather conditions were so unusual they had to call a specialist to confirm that they were indeed tornados. Confirmed. Afterwards we headed for the Lake Erie KOA and had decent weather for the first hour or so. After that, we put on our coats and our gear cover as we spent the next couple of hours in medium rain with occasional bursts of heavy rain. The air was warm so it was no big deal. We arrived and decided to go to a movie and unwind before I called home to deal with bill night. Haley has gotten to the point where she gets bored if she isn’t entertained every second. I explained that she needed to find a way to deal with this on her own. She is not the happiest with me the last couple of days. Mostly because I am not putting up with her mouth and her need to be catered to each and every second. Actually the trip has gone way too smooth so far and I am glad this has finally come up. We need to move through this and I’m glad it came up when we still have several weeks to deal with it.
