| The
ride was great. Route 6 is as enjoyable as predicted. Every 5 to 10
minutes down the road delivered a new tiny town with tons of character.
About an hour from our destination the rain started so we pulled over
to get on our jackets. After we suited up I decided to pull into the
café next to us for a short rest. As soon as we did it poured
and I do mean poured. The slightly puddle parking lot was 4-6 inches
deep in water after 10 minutes. When I realized getting out of the
lake-like parking lot was soon becoming our biggest concern we got
up and went for it. Within 5 minutes of medium rain, the down pour
stopped and we had partly cloudy conditions the rest of the way. We
couldn’t have planned the stop any better. Haley went to the
pool upon arrival and found several friends. We went to dinner and
then back to the KOA for a movie and a good night sleep. Haley got
sick around midnight, right after I went to sleep. Something she ate
I expect but I was up for hours trying to get back to sleep. Oh well. |
