| Back on the
road to Boston. After a couple of hours driving up the coast we stopped
at a deli for some sandwiches and went to the beach for a picnic and
some swimming. The kids had fun until Haley was attacked by a sea
monster or something that wrapped around her leg and left her in pain
for hours. Ok, it itched a lot or something, who knows? A couple hours
later we pulled into the seaport Mystic, a town I remember my father
taking me to when I was around TJ’s age. We spent several hours
touring Ships and seeing lots of first hand demonstrations of the
ways they did things back in the day. It was a blast and we all enjoyed
it a great deal. After that we hopped on the freeway and blasted our
way to Boston in about 2 hours. Boston quickly earned the most confusing
roads in America award. Even the locals agree. The town was never
planned from a road layout point of view and there is had been and
is so much road construction going on like adding bridges, digging
huge tunnels under the city and tarring down old roads and bridges
that for the very first time in almost 7,000 miles my GPS got confused.
Over the following days we took several 30-60 minute trips that should
have only take 10-15. |
