| I found a
Yamaha dealer about 20 minutes from our hotel and got a new bolt and
replaced the headlight before we headed off to breakfast. After we
ate, we did a non-stop run to NY. Getting through Manhattan was lots
of fun considering we hit it at rush hour. We finally found a reasonably
priced hotel and unloaded the car and bike. Next we headed off to
park the car and bike at the garage the hotel gave me directions to.
Well it was only 2 blocks away and we spent over an hour searching.
The numbers did not match the streets and the one-way streets did
not match the directions and everyone I asked sent us a different
way. I finally called the hotel and she said, “oops. I gave
you the wrong directions, sorry”. Then she gave me a new address.
The address she gave me did not exist according to the street numbers
and the local Police and taxi drivers I asked. So in final desperation
I went to the hotel and asked the manager to get in the car and show
us. 30 seconds later he pulled into a garage on the number block that
said it covered building numbers 50-100 and the garage number was
199, go figure. You can imagine what this did to my mood. The good
news is that the hotel was a great place considering the deal we got
and it was located right next to the wharf. We picked up Subway and
went to the room for the night. |
