| We headed
for Niagara Falls and took the boat ride on the Maid of the Mist.
It was well worth the boat trip and the falls are spectacular. Afterwards
we walked up to see the town and boy was that a mistake. The town
is somebody’s incredibly bad design of a tourist town. A collection
of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, 6 kinds of haunted houses, and
bad food on every corner. Closer to a carnival row then a town. After
that let down we then took Hwy 90 all the way to Albany. I had forgotten
about the whole paid turnpike concept on the east coast freeways.
It’s bad enough that it cost us about $10 to drive on the turnpike
for 2 hours but the roads were so bad that they ended up bouncing
one of my seat bolts loose and retired a headlight bulb. This cost
added to the toll fees brought the total cost of the turnpike ride
to around $50 all said and done. Now in all fairness the bolt was
removed and replaced by Winnipeg Yamaha and while I intended to check
it I forgot to and I have to assume it was not tightened as much as
I usually tighten it considering it survived over 10,000 miles prior
to this event and only made it around 2,000 this time. If you guys
are reading this it would be great if you got me a replacement bolt
from Mustang seats. Just email me and I’ll send you the shipping
info :~} Needless to say New York just bumped Canada out of first
place for the worst freeway conditions award. |
