Travel Highlights
We woke to light rain so I requested a late checkout in hopes of clearing. It worked for a little while but unfortunately the rain moved the same direction we were heading and guess who was moving faster. You guessed it. As usual when I asked Haley if she wanted to run for shelter and move farther tomorrow or push through she made the choice to tough it out. Around 8 when we arrived at Perry Sound we went to the Travel lodge to try and get a room. The guy at the front desk made a comment that we looked all wet followed by the comment that if we did not have reservations we were not going to be happy. He insisted he had no room and that he had been booking overflow guests in the other resorts in town all day. I said we would not find a room in town so he booked us at his sister property which was about 45 minutes further down the road in the town of Berry. As we pulled out I decided to call the local KOA in case they had a space. They were full as well but suggested some places we could try. The second stop landed us a room. Not only did the guy from the Travel Lodge mislead us on rooms but the next day I discovered the town he wanted to send us to was more like a hour and a half not 45 minutes.
