| We have knocked
out enough miles to allow us to slow down a little now. We need to
travel about 225-250 miles or so a day for the next 4 days to make
our plans. We did stop to check out the “Worlds longest suspension
bridge”. As it turns out the trip up the road was far more frightening
and dangerous then the bridge. When I asked the lady selling us our
tickets if we were supposed to ride the bike over to the bridge she
informed me that that would be fine. I was glad to hear it, as it
would save us about a 30-minute one-way walk. As I followed the tire
tracks around a corner and started up a hill I realized I was beyond
the point of no return on a road that is only acceptable by quad runners
and 4 wheel drives, not 800-pound street bikes. We slipped and skidded
our way all the way up and braked, dragged my foot and sweated all
the way down. No disasters but not my favorite moment of the trip
so far. See pictures. |
